Asked if it was beneficial to focus on the decision, Simeone replied: ‘You focus on it. One person makes a comment, another person does the same, and you make it a hidden thing.’
Simeone also heaped praise on Leverkusen boss Xavier Alonso ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash.
‘Yes, of course. He is an example of seeing football from the middle of the pitch, where the best view is, and he has a great coach. Big congratulations to him for his performance and we have to take the game in a way that we think can do harm.’
